Updatey thing that she didn't ask for that I'm doing anyway. :P

*cough*

[livejournal.com profile] giogio is on her way to the wilds of eastern Canada in a very small plane. She will land two and a half hours later than the scheduled time.

Mr. Byrne is getting up with the kids, dude. I might even crawl into bed with [livejournal.com profile] giogio in the guest room so we don't wake everyone up when we get back from the airport at three am.

Oh my we're gonna be tired tomorrow. :P

Signed,

Ahhhhh. I am in the northeastern wilds of Canada. One of my suitcases, however, is currently in Halifax. Regrettably it is the suitcase with [livejournal.com profile] byrne's pralines and the boychild's present. The girlchild's present was in the other suitcase and is currently sitting on the kitchen counter waiting for the boychild's present to arrive prior to unwrapping. This is difficult, since I am not the most patient of people and dammit, I want to play with it too!

Speaking of the complete and utter cuteness of the girlchild, I was catching up on LJ just now with her sitting on my lap and making kissy faces when she saw the sleepy Chris mood icon on [livejournal.com profile] mickeym's journal and exclaimed, "Look! It's Daddy!!" Ahem. [livejournal.com profile] byrne might have been withholding important information, I feel ;-)

So, er, yeah. Haven't been online since the last time I posted in London, because I did go to wake Cute Greek Boy and then we kind of made a mess of the other flatmate's bed until about five minute before I had to run to the tube station. *big flashing TMI sirens* I flew back to my grandmother's with come in my hair. Goduncle came to pick me up from the airport and said, "you look really fresh and fit there!" Babyuncle was more direct and said I looked debauched.

We ended up killing a few more bottles of wine and looking at family pictures my grandmother is in the process of organizing. I saw a picture of my great-great-grandmother for the first time! Then I picked out a bunch of pictures goduncle is going to have copies made of for me, including my grandparent's wedding picture, which I love, because my grandfather was the most handsomest dark devil ever (my grandmother had such great taste in men) and I look a lot like my grandmother. And baby pictures of mum and my uncles! The funniest part though was that when I looked through the album with babyuncle's baby pictures, I kept on pulling them out and saying, "Oi, I took that picture! That's not babyuncle, that's babyuncle's son!"

Anyway, as you might have gathered from [livejournal.com profile] byrne's proxy-posting on my behalf, the flight back was hellish. It's really never that great to wake up from a catnap midway across the Atlantic with the flight attendant making an urgent announcement for a doctor in three different languages... and of course after that, everything got kinda weird because the ill personage was stretched out in the galley being tended to there and there was no more service for the rest of the flight, just a lot of flight attendants scurrying back and forth in a harried manner. As soon as we touched down in Toronto, the paramedics came on board and then it was another half hour before they's removed the woman and let us off, by which point I was ready to claw the cabin walls. Oh. And we're not going to talk about the 2 1/2 hour delay on my flight to the northeastern wilds of Canada and the suitcase. Just no.

Time for a smoke, a bath, (hopefully) some clean clothes (if there are any in that suitcase) and some playtime with the girlchild :)
