giogio: (Don't Panic)

Ahhhh. So far today I've watched the entirety of Angels in America (so very, very good!), gone to the gym for a couple of hours and watched the first two episodes of Season 6 of Stargate. I love Netflix. I also intend to return to slothfully lounging in front of the DVD player to watch more season 6 in a bit...

Seems the frienditto drama has blown over, though it was an excellent motivator for me to clean up ye olde posting filters. I've always filtered locked posts, including using a filter for generic flocked stuff rather than just friends, so I could exclude most fic journals... seems to have been one of my better ideas. Though really, half of the filters exist for the comfort level of others, rather than myself. Anything that can never *ever* be risked becoming public knowledge doesn't get written down in the first place; I've datedhad torrid affairs with way too many hackers and cryptographers (including one of the two guys who cracked Netscape's supposedly uncrackable security just to see how long it would take them about ten years ago) to think that anything is ever truly secure. I am reminded of a party I attended at DefCon several years ago, where one security expert complained that when he was working for misc.company, they'd have these very well-coordinated attacks on their systems on Friday nights that grew more and more uncoordinated as the night progressed. The person standing next to me burst out laughing and replied, "well, the people attacking your system were myself, x, y and z, and the reason the attacks got more uncoordinated was that it was a party and we were drinking." 'Nough said.

Okay. Time for an itsy-bitsy bit of housework and then back to Stargate watching.
