Does a Mac (I'm thinking laptop) purchased in the US work fine in the UK? Apart from a new power supply, would he need anything else?

Although I've been in a work-induced black hole recently and probably not paying as much attention as I should, it occurs to me after reading several LJ posts and even commenting on a few of them over the past few weeks that a lot of people seem to be confusing the issues of illegal immigration and economic policy (or lack thereof).
