So not only did I not leave the office until quarter to eight this evening, but I also didn't get home until eight thirty because three cars decided to have a demolition derby on Folsom right under the railroad overpass by CSUS... only I didn't know it was three cars. I was just about sick of waiting and ready to flip a bitch and take the very long way around, when I saw the tow truck coming out. No problem, I thought, it'll move in a minute. Nothing moved. Another five minutes and I saw the second tow truck coming out. That makes sense, I thought. Usually you get a couple of cars getting into a fenderbender, but it's going to move now. Another five minutes, and the third tow truck came out...and then it finally moved...another five minutes later when the cops finally cleared out.
Anyway, enough of my commuting troubles and on to more pleasant things. Apparently, somebody nominated "A Pocket Full of Posies" for the McKay/Sheppard Awards. Thank you, whoever you are! (And I should probably mention that the AU o' Doom is not actually dead. It's at 55K wods or thereabouts and probably needs another 10K or so to be finished, but it's languishing a bit while I am consumed with the entire househunting thing, and, you know, dealing with press and dayjob stuff. As soon as I find a minute, I will finish it though!)
In still other news, a few straggling pieces of mail have made it this way, and we've received holiday cards from
synecdochic and
sarahq, and
zortified and
zortwife. Thank you! Perhaps most surprisingly of all, the postcard
giosdad and Schnuffi sent from Vietnam back in November finally made it here *g*
