Okay, that's a bit dramatic. I was driving to new house to meet Terminix dude about the mice in the attic (the house was empty for about a year) and stopped at a stoplight when smoke suddenly started billowing out from under the hood. cutenyeboi. Checked coolant tank. Coolant tank suddenly empty. Filled with one gallon of water. Car still billowing smoke. Drove two blocks to very nice Iranian neighborhood mechanic, who was very impressed with my ability to write my name in Persian and diagnosed a radiator hose as having broken. Car's all better now, but I had to cancel my appointment *sigh*
