Nic got me an electric toothbrush! (This is actually more thoughtful than it sounds because I've been having terrible pregnancy-related trouble with my gums).
And random question for the moms out there: did any of you use a diaper service with your kids? Thoughts? Comments?
I'm sort of kind of thinking about it because of having allergic reactions (contact dermatitis) to non-cotton underwear myself, so if this baby is anything like me in the skin department, cotton diapers (at least at home) might save us a whole lot of pain and suffering.
And I'm starting to build my registry, which is why I'm asking :p

We took a middle route: we used eco nappies as we were in a flat and had no tumble dryer or outside drying. Washing our own cloth was not a real option for us. If you decide to give them a try, the UK brand we liked best was Bambo, but Moltex seemed more-widely available.
Now that E is in a night nappy he rarely wets (just often enough to make the nappy worth it!), we have ended up actually buying a couple of cloth nappies because they work better than disposables if you want to reuse them several nights in a row.
I'm told if you go for cloth and don't use a service, then it is well worth getting newborn nappies for the first week: meconium is a bugger to wipe off bottoms (just wash it off under the tap, if you can) and worse to get off nappies. Plus a lot of the cloth nappies fit better once the babies are that fraction bigger. YM will almost certainly V.

Me, I liked Huggies better than Pampers, and Superdry own brand was just as good as Huggies and cheaper (we had an emergency one day and they were the closest shop). Pampers tended to stick to E's bum, and a friend said that it did the same for her son. The reason I liked Bambo was that it had the shaping of Pampers and fit like that, but didn't stick.
A friend who did cloth for her first said she found that he mostly pooed after breakfast, so she would put him in dispos then, and go back to cloth later in the day. Much easier. She's got three now, and the younger ones got a lot less cloth nappying, but they are all under 5.

Apropos roter Po.
